Vancouver Canucks Opening Night Roster + Projected Lineup Combinations

The Vancouver Canucks opening day roster has been turned into the league but oddly the line combinations may not be set for some time as Vancouver deep sixed their top prospects and added Zac Dalpe and Ryan Stanton to their roster in the last day or so.

Subject to change especially the 3rd and 4th lines:

Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Alex Burrows
Jannick Hansen, Ryan Kesler, Chris Higgins
Brad Richardson, Zac Dalpe, David Booth
Tom Sestito, Mike Santorelli, Dale Weise

Zack Kassian is on the roster but is suspended for first five games

Defensemen Pairings

Alex Edler, Kevin Bieksa
Dan Hamhuis, Jason Garrison
Yannick Weber, Andrew Alberts/Chris Tanev

8th defenseman Ryan Stanton

Goaltenders will be starter Robert Luongo and Eddie Lack.

Vancouver Canucks Send Hunter Shinkaruk Back to Junior Team

Hunter Shinkaruk who was selected at the 24th overall pick in the first round was sent back to Medicine Hat (WHL), his junior team by the Vancouver Canucks. Shinkaruk impressed the Canucks and was sent down a day later than Vancouver's other first round draft pick Bo Horvat who was also impressive in training camp for the Canucks.

Horvat was sent down to London (OHL) yesterday.

2013 NHL Draft Prospect Battle - Shinkaruk vs. McCarron vs. Klimchuk vs. Erne

The 2013 NHL Draft was considered one of the best drafts if not the best NHL draft since 2003. Did the Vancouver Canucks make the right selection with Left Wing/Center Hunter Shinkaruk? The Canucks of course traded Goaltender Cory Schneider to the New Jersey Devils for the 9th overall selection which they had used on center Bo Horvat.
The Canucks passed up right wing Michael McCarron and left wings Morgan Klimchuk and Adam Erne who were all on the board at the 24th pick.

More goes into how these players do than their statistics but you can follow the statistics of these four players here for fun to start.

2013 NHL Draft Prospect Battle Horvat vs. Nichushkin vs. Domi

The 2013 NHL Draft was considered one of the best drafts if not the best NHL draft since 2003. Did the Vancouver Canucks make the right selection on Center/Left Wing Bo Horvat? The Canucks of course traded Goaltender Cory Schneider to the New Jersey Devils for the 9th overall selection so of course this pick may be under even greater scrutiny in the future.
Bo Horvat was one of my favorite players in the draft so I am anxious to see how Horvat performs in the future. But should Vancouver have selected the big and talented forward Valeri Nichushkin instead or even Horvat's teammate playmaking center Max Domi?

More goes into how these players do than their statistics but you can follow the statistics of these three players here for fun to start.
